Meet the Coaches: Club Ohio East

When it comes to nurturing young soccer talent and shaping future champions, the heart of any program lies with its coaching staff. Today’s post was written by Guest Blogger, Coach James Norman of Club Ohio East. Club Ohio East is a Premier OSMD Insider and sponsor of Ohio Soccer Moms and Dads. As a benefit to our Premier Insiders we collaborate on blog posts featuring clubs, teams and leadership in varying topics. In this post Club Ohio East share’s how they have grown over the last 5 years and features some of their coaching staff. - Jennifer Dunaway, Ohio Soccer Moms and Dads

Club Ohio East is entering its 5th year as part of the Club Ohio family. We have grown from our GNA days of 11 teams and 115 players to almost 500 players totaling 35 teams in 2023. From our initial footprint of the Gahanna area, we added new locations on the East side in Pickerington (PASA) and Reynoldsburg (Alliance Soccer). Over time, we continued to build our staff, bringing in some of the top youth coaches in Central Ohio. All of this has been possible because of the partnership with Club Ohio.

Our coaching staff includes six local high school coaches from all levels, former collegiate, and professional players. Among those coaches are:

Tony Labudovski is Director of Coaching for Club Ohio East. He is also the head coach at Reynoldsburg High School Varsity coach. He played division 1 college soccer at Wright State, then professionally with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Swedish club Trosa-Vagnharad SK. Tony also played for a previous incarnation of Club Ohio in his youth. He has his USSF “D” license.

Stephen Harvey has his USSF “B” License, is an ODP Staff coach, Ohio Soccer “D” license instructor, Varsity Coach at Pickerington Central, and Professor of Coaching at Ohio University.

BB Marzouk has his USSF “D” license and has been coaching 5 years with Club Ohio East, and several years prior to joining Club Ohio. He is a former professional player in his home country of Tunisia.

Mark Masey is the Club Ohio East Girls Youth Director. He coaches the Pickerington Central Girls JV Coach and has 20+ years of coaching experience in club soccer. He has his USSF “D” license.

These are just a few of the coaches on our staff, and we will feature more in future articles.
